Jen Perry was promoted to the Director of Operations in 2017 following her two-year stint as director of distribution and nutrition. Currently Jen oversees all hunger-relief and distribution programs of The Open Door, client services, food service, nutrition education, and volunteer engagement. Since beginning her employment at The Open Door in 2005, Jen has filled many roles during that time including Community Meals manager, volunteer coordinator, and Summer Food Service Program manager. She graduated from Regis College with a BA in sociology and worked for a social policy research group at Brandeis University for several years before coming to The Open Door. While at The Open Door, she continued her education at North Shore Community College with classes in the nutrition and sciences departments. She sits on the North Shore Community College Nutritional Science and Diet Technology Advisory Board, is an Ipswich Rotarian, and a member of the Massachusetts Partnership for Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention. She also serves on the board of the Ipswich Rotary and chairs the board of Backyard Growers.
